Best Nerf Sniper Rifles | Top 5 Combo of Accuracy & Power

For the most part, your child may engage in Nerf battles that are indoors or in small backyard areas.

However, if you have a large backyard, have a large park nearby, or your child has a friend with a massive backyard and also loves Nerf, they’re likely going to need some blasters that can shoot further than some of the weapons that they currently own.

That being said, finding the right type of Nerf sniper rifle blaster that is known for its long-distance capabilities can be difficult given the sheer number of blasters you’ll come across while shopping.

1. Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Centurion Blaster

Nerf Centurion Mega Toy Blaster with Folding Bipod, 6-Dart Clip, 6 Official Nerf Mega Darts, and Bolt Action for Kids, Teens, and Adults (Amazon Exclusive)

The Nerf Mega sniper rifle series offers a couple of great long-range blasters, which only makes sense given the increased power needed to fire their larger, whistling darts.

The Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Centurion blaster offers a 6-mega dart banana clip for easier loading and reloading while taking shots from further distances.

Simply hold onto your blaster or set it on the included bipod, prime the blaster with the bolt-action mechanism on the side of the gun, and watch your shots fire up to an impressive 100 feet! Remember the mega darts are bigger and make for a louder impact than the traditional nerf darts and fit inside of the mega clip dart holder.

If your child is looking for a blaster that looks great, gets the job done, and makes their performance more intimidating (what could be scarier than hearing a bunch of whistling darts coming towards you?), the Nerf Elite Mega Centurion is a great choice and is one of the top Nerf Sniper Rifles you can pick up.

Worth Mentioning: The Nerf N-Strike Elite Sonic Ice Centurion Blaster

The Nerf N-Strike Elite Sonic Ice Centurion is actually a re-skin of the previous nerf gun, offering the same capabilities and performance that you see in the original Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Centurion blaster.

However, unlike its predecessor, the Nerf N-Strike Elite Sonic Ice Centurion has a transparent blue body that is far more visually striking than the original blaster.

The only issue? The Nerf Elite Sonic Ice Centurion is much rarer than its counterpart, making it more of a collectible than a traditional blaster.

However, if you’re willing to pay a higher price for it, it’s certainly a Nerf gun worth having in any collection!

2. Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike RaptorStrike

The Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike series was developed with the goal of having a series of Nerf guns that were more accurate than other lines.

Hasbro Nerf Accustrike Raptorstrike Figure

This is accomplished with their unique AccuStrike darts, which feature a spiral tip that is designed to improve aerodynamics so that your shots don’t experience the same kind of resistance and issues that regular flat or blunted tips do.

Although there are plenty of great blasters in the Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike series that players should check, the sniper rifle that we want to talk about is the Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike RaptorStrike.

The Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike RaptorStrike is a visually striking blaster, featuring a bright orange body with elements of light grey and black decals that pop on the face of the body.

This nerf sniper rifle comes with a transparent 18-dart clip so that you have plenty of firepower and can stay on top of your ammo supply, a pop-up sight so that you can improve your accuracy when you shoot at targets from further distances, and an extendable bipod to get the perfect shot every time. Just prime the bolt action and fire at will, overall an excellent nerf gun to add to your collection.

Why? Unlike other series, the Nerf Modulus series utilizes a wide variety of accessories in each of their blaster lines that can be interchanged with one another, allowing players with an extensive Nerf Modulus collection to create hundreds of different blaster combinations based on what they’re looking for.

However, we all have to start somewhere. If you want to start your child with a sniper rifle in the Nerf Modulus series, you should consider the Nerf Modulus Longstrike blaster.

The Nerf Modulus features a similar-looking body to other models we’ve mentioned insofar, providing users with a slim, lightweight blaster that sports the ghost white and lime green colors of the Modulus series.

Rather than offering a couple of accessories, the Nerf Modulus Longstrike blaster comes with a barrel extension to improve shots, a full removable scope for better accuracy, and a bipod to help stabilize shots from longer distances.

5. Nerf Rival Jupiter XIX-1000

If you’ve been following our Nerf guns posts closely, you may have taken a look at our other post on the best Nerf Rival rounds, where we cover the Nerf Edge series.

The Nerf Rival Edge series focused on creating new sniper rifles that focused on long-range shooting rather than fast-paced, competitive performance like we see in the original Nerf Rival blasters line. One of the sniper rifles that you may want to consider if you have an older child is the Nerf Rival Jupiter XIX-1000.

The Nerf Rival Jupiter XIX-1000 is a bit different from other blasters in regards to its features.

The Nerf Rival Jupiter XIX-1000 comes with an internal magazine that’s capable of holding up to 10 high-impact foam rounds, a monopod in the back and bipod in the front to give you the best possible accuracy, a transparent component on the blaster as well as a priming handle indicator to tell you whether or not your blaster is ready to fire, an unjamming button, and a built-in sight.

Overall, the Nerf Rival Jupiter XIX-1000 offers everything you need to get the best performance out of your sniper rifle!

What Classifies as a Nerf Sniper Rifle?

When it comes to classifying a Nerf blaster as a sniper rifle, these are the essentials: an elongated barrel and sleek design; shoulder stock; bolt-action priming mechanism; single-shot mode only, plus any accessories such as removable scopes, sights, or bipods.

Although other sources may classify certain blasters as sniper rifles, this is often not accurate - for example, motorization and slam firing should never be features of genuine snipers.

Aesthetics

I'm definitely a fan of Nerf sniper rifles, not just for the way they look and how ergonomic they are but also due to their unique firing mechanism. Even though these types of blasters weren't created with winning any war in mind, there is still an audience that appreciates them.

For this reason alone and the fact that I can see why people would enjoy them so much makes me love Nerf sniper rifles even more.

Performance

Although you won't be able to shoot a bull’s-eye from 200 feet away with any Nerf sniper rifle, I do appreciate how they're manufactured to work better than other types of Nerf blasters include the Nerf Ultra series (minus the Rival series). Let's keep it real though; accuracy isn't going to be extraordinary even with the most advanced model. After all, we are speaking about foam darts and rounds. That being said, performance is satisfactory nonetheless.

What I also find interesting is that some Nerf sniper rifles come with a detachable stock, allowing you to adjust the piece according to your body structure and shooting preferences. This way, besides having fun while using them, you can also develop proper shooting form. The Nerf Ultra line also has some fairly popular blasters that would fall into the category of hybrid rifles.

Accessories

If you hope to become an expert marksman with a Nerf sniper rifle, it's wise to invest in some accessories that can help improve your accuracy. Think about purchasing either a bipod or removable scope for improved shooting acumen. Moreover, the type of dart is also essential—Nerf Ultra Darts, AccuStrike Darts, and Rival High-Impact Rounds are designed particularly to increase not only precision but also launching power.

Target Practice

If you're ready to take your Nerf sniper shooting skills up a notch and have fun while doing it, consider investing in one of the best Nerf targets I listed. With these amazing target devices, you'll get an authentic experience that is perfect for honing your skills on your own before venturing into battle. Plus, practicing with these targets increases the thrill of firing away.

Overall, Nerf sniper rifles are incredibly fun and can be used to hone your shooting skills, practice with targets, or just have a good time. When choosing the best one for you, consider its performance, price point, and any accessories you'd like to add.

Nerf guns and especially Nerf sniper rifles are few and far between, which is why it can feel so difficult to find them.

Fortunately, we know about all the best sniper rifles out there that your child will love. If your child needs something that can offer them comprehensive support during long-range battles, consider one of the sniper rifles above to add to their collection!
