As we established in our previous review for the Nerf Vortex Pyragon, the world of Nerf disc guns is far more exciting and good-looking than most people would imagine.
With sleek and slim designs, efficient foam discs, and additional features that you would be hard-pressed to find on most Nerf guns, it is no wonder why people who find themselves engaging in indoor battles want to purchase disc blasters.
In this review, we are going to cover another excellent option from the Vortex series, the Nerf Vortex Praxis. Here’s what you should know about the Nerf Vortex Praxis disc gun if it is a blaster that has managed to capture your attention.

Style and Design
If you were a fan of the Pyragon, you are absolutely going to love the Praxis. Featuring a small, slim body that further emphasizes its assault weapon status, the Praxis is covered in a pale green color that contrasts well with the bright orange and charcoal gray that details the rest of the blaster.
With the same kind of mechanical-looking body that you would see on a traditional blaster, you cannot tell that this is a disc blaster at first glance, which further adds to the surprise factor that your enemies will receive when they see discs flying through the air toward them.
A change of ammo shouldn’t mean a lack of style, which is something that the Nerf Vortex Praxis proves quite well.
Ammo Capacity
Besides looking great, the Nerf Vortex Praxis also comes with a pretty high ammo capacity (when you take into consideration the size of the blaster).
The Praxis comes with a 10-disc clip that gives you plenty of ammo and makes it easier to replenish your ammunition when you do run out of discs in the heat of a battle.
If ammo capacity is a major selling point for you and you need something that makes it easy to get back to the action, the Praxis has you covered.
Firing Style and Range
Like other products in the Vortex line, the Nerf Vortex Praxis uses a pump-action mechanism to shoot its discs through the air, which allows for greater control over your ammo supply.
Despite the size of these discs, they can fly quite far and perform well in indoor environments where you do not have to worry about wind or other outdoor obstacles. Simply load your clip in, prime the blaster, and fire at will!

Additional Features
This blaster is relatively basic, which is what makes it such a great weapon. Fortunately, however, it does come with a removable shoulder stock that makes it easier for you to improve your accuracy while taking shots.
Although the blaster works well on its own, its small size can work against you if you find it hard to hold the weapon, prime it, and aim it at your enemy. The shoulder stock gives owners the extension they need to make it easier to use the weapon.
What We Like
- Great Look: The Nerf Vortex line is one in which Nerf changes up the design for almost every blaster, which makes each blaster unique in its own right. The Praxis looks like an excellent weapon, and as you can tell from the above, its performance matches its design.
- Easy to Load: Clip systems for blasters that use darts are extremely efficient, but clips systems for disc blasters are even more so. Why? With these types of blasters, not only can you have multiple clips on your person to make it easier to return to blasting but you can also easily grab multiple discs at a time and load them into your clip with ease.
Whether you’re preloading clips for quick access or picking up discs and popping them in as you go (which may only be recommended for disc battles), the Praxis makes it easy for you to get back to the action. - Extremely Lightweight: No one likes toting around a heavy blaster, no matter how many extra features it may have on its body. The great thing about disc blasters is that you don’t typically have to worry about this as the ammo used is ultralight.
Since the Praxis is already slim and the clip system adds little weight, it’s very easy to carry around an indoor space.
What We Don’t Like
This is actually one of the few blasters where there are absolutely no disadvantages that we can think of to mention. This should speak to the overall quality and functionality of the nerf Vortex Praxis!

Nerf Vortex Praxis Review: Our Verdict
Lightweight, easy to use, and great looking, the Nerf Vortex Praxis is an excellent blaster for anyone who is looking to add a disc-based weapon to their arsenal. If you need something that is fast and efficient, we highly recommend that you make the Nerf Vortex Praxis your next purchase!
