- It features a large capacity tank that holds up to 65 fluid ounces (1900 milliliters) of water.

- The pump handle also helps you steady the blaster as you pour on powerful streams of water from this kids water toy.
- It's easy to use so you're soaking the competition in no time!
- Fill the tank with water then pump the handle back and forth to deliver a deluge of water in Nerf Super Soaker battles.

Let's Start with Style and Design
Today’s Nerf players are accustomed to the more modern designs they’ll find on newer Nerf weapons and lines. However, using the Super Soaker Hydra will ultimately introduce you to a retro experience that you may not have encountered with typical dart blasters.
The Super Soaker Hydra sports a blue, gray, and orange blaster design that’s very minimalistic in nature, giving you some of the original color schemes that you may have seen from the company back in the day.
While rather large, the Super Soaker Hydra is rather simple to operate, making it perfect for older children who have no problem taking this blaster around with them.
If simplicity yet fun is important for your children and teens, the Super Soaker Hydra is the perfect water blaster to get started with!
Water Capacity
Having plenty of water is one of the most crucial aspects of a water fight.
After all, having to return to the hose frequently only decreases the amount of time that you get to enjoy on the field!
With the Nerf Super Soaker Hydra, you have a tank that can hold up to 1.9 liters of water for never-ending, water-blasting fun. You can always supplement this monster blaster with some side blasters in case you run out of water at the worst possible time.
Firing Style and Features
What we love about this blaster is that it offers pump-action capabilities without the hassle of having to pump and fire after.
Instead, users of the Super Soaker Hydra can simply use the handle on the front of the blaster to actively pump water out of their blaster when they push the handle up and pull the handle back down.
This ensures that there are no extra steps that may prevent you from blasting away the competition.
Another aspect of the Hydra that we truly appreciate is the location of the tank’s cap.
Some blasters place the entrance to the tank on the side of the weapon, which makes it easy to lose some of your water when you go to close it back up or even end up losing water should the cap detach.
The Super Soaker Hydra’s cap is located towards the back of the weapon right at the very top. This makes it easy to hold it right under the water spigot or hose, fill it up, close the cap, and start blasting as soon as possible!
WHAT I LIKE
- Easy Access to Tank: As we’ve established above, having easy access to the tank on your water blaster plays a crucial role in how quickly you’re able to refill it and how well it will hold your water. Although this is a water gun and some leaks are only natural, the location of the cap helps you refill your blaster with ease and keeps the water in fairly well.
- Simple Firing Style: Many pump blasters require you to keep pumping until there’s enough pressure in the chamber to fire your water with force. With this pump-action style, all you have to do is push and pull the handle on your blaster to fire your water. This makes it far easier to operate for older children and teens who may not want to go over all those extra steps.
- Plenty of Water Capacity: Water blasters with too small of a capacity will generally be emptied in only a couple of pumps. While running out of water is something that’s unavoidable during a water fight, the Super Soaker Hydra offers you 1.9 liters of water capacity to make sure that you have enough power and water to take on any other Super Soaker blaster.
- Built-in Shoulder Stock: Because this blaster is so massive, being able to stabilize it is essential for younger players carrying it around. Fortunately, this design features a curved shoulder stock at the back of the weapon so that you can keep it level as you fire at other players on the field. There’s also plenty of support at the front of the weapon to carry its weight with greater ease.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE
- On the Heavy Side: Teens and older children definitely enjoy water gun fights, but younger players may be better equipped with a better option for their needs. The Nerf Super Soaker Hydra is big on its own, and it only becomes heavier once it’s full. Keep this in mind when you’re shopping for younger users.
- Must Be Holding Water Gun Upright At All Times: It’s important to remember that this is still a water gun. As such, filling it up too much or holding it at an angle where the water is pressing up against the cap will result in your product leaking water. Make sure to hold it still and try to avoid setting it down at an angle where the water is going to start coming out of the blaster.
My In-Depth Super Soaker Hydra Review: Our Verdict
If you’re looking for a big water blaster to help your child really enjoy their water gun fights, you’re sure to enjoy what the Nerf Super Soaker Hydra has to offer!
With a very easy design, a 1.9-liter water tank that offers plenty of firepower, and a cool design that throws you back to the old days of Nerf, anyone would be glad to wield the Super Soaker Hydra in a fun water blaster battle.
Just make sure to keep some of the above points in mind if you’re shopping for younger enthusiasts!
